You might ask Hybrid901. I think he's run pretty high boost on a non-sleeved block. Made like 390whp with it too.

I made right around 430hp with 22psi on stock sleeves. Then cranked the boost up to 28psi and didn't have any problems. The problems came when the nitrous was added (jetted for 75hp, which actually turns into more like 100-110hp at the wheels). Only then did I crack a sleeve. This was on an LS motor with a T3/60-1 turbo.

it all comes down to the tuning
what kind of engine management are you looking to run?

also what compression ratio are you going to run with the aftermarket pistons?

see its kinda hard to just ask hey will 15psi on my block hold? too many factors to just give a simple yes or no.

all in all i would say if you have a great tune, wide band O2 sensor with some dyno runs and a good EMS then you should be able to run 15lbs without a problem.

Why not just wait until you have enough for sleeves and then turn it up to 40lbs if you like??? people run sleeve specials all the time for 700-1000. do it right the first time and only do it once!!!

On my car I have hit 15 a couple times with boost creep. Nothing major happened but you do take alittle chance doing all the time. Sooner or later the tops of the sleeves will crack just because of costant high pressure.

Blockguards I heard rumor will vibrate around under high boost and cause the sleeves to crack. Just something I've been told.

I think if I was you I would think about maybe throwing a blockguard in there just to be safe. Like they say better safe than sorry.

I want to hear from people that have used blockguards and had something break. I always hear rumors about them, but no one ever posts saying "oh my block guard didnt save my sleeves from cracking." People using blockguards, please post your setup!

In the matter of the blockguard I don't have experience, but I do hold on to good information.
