Hey guys I am going to buy some pistons and rods blah blah...and thats going ot up my boost correct? So I would need to resleeve my sleeves dont I? But what should I do for that? What kind of sleeves? And what would I have to do..or what should I do with my $1000 I have to my motor? It's already turboed...what would you do?

Just having pistons and rods is not going to up ur boost but it will be able to handle more boost safely. I would definitely sleeve ur block if u want it to last with good tuning.

Ok I see...but I'm already tuned so what is the point of getting tuned again? So it'll handle more boost more safely then but I would still have to resleeve it if I went more boost? What are some good sleeves out there

to clear this up for some of you guys. Matt here is asking if he should get pistons and rods over sleeves. NO PISTONS/RODS WILL NOT UP YOUR BOOST. it will only change your compresion ratio. thus you being able to hold more boost and then it will be up to your sleeves to hold the boost.

getting rods and piston should be about $1000 dollars with machineing and installation. unless you install them yourself but you still have to get your block honed and whatnot.

Matt a.k.a bboysake has a LS turbo tuned at 10psi.

edit. if you want to run mroe boost your are going to need more fuel thus having another tune. and i do believe just getting pistons requires a new tune correct?

ook..

1. buy the pistons and rods
2. take you block to a machine shop and get your block honed and bored if you need it. but i would get it bored on the stock sleeves.
3. have someone install the rods/pistons for you
4. get tuned for about 13-15psi
5. you will need a manuel boost contoller in order to up your boost
6. dont boost your stock sleeves to much they will crack
