boost problems
ok I just installed a turbo kit on my buddies 96 prelude its obd2. it has a t3-t04e tial wastegate, bla bla,
ok for fuel manegement, it is using an inline fuel pump, a 12:1 paxton fmu, and a vafc, the prelude comes with 345cc injectors(I think) I set the vafc at 35% across the board.
I know for a fact the missing link is not working because it throws code 3 which is too much input on map sensor, I am going to go pick up some check valves right now at the fish store when it opens.
my question is shoudn't the thing go into boost at all when I give it gas, it seems like it should spool by 6 grand. woud the check valve cause it not to boost? I saw one pound last night but not any more.
thanks for all the help!

Re: boost problems (nigel)
if you set the vafc 35% plus across the board then that's the reason your throwing a code....If the missing link is new there's no reason why it shouldn't be doing it's job...It works a lot better than check valves.Try setting the Vafc at zero and see how the car drives..

Re: boost problems (espano(ls))
ok I think I am getting it, becausae thefmu already makes the afr 12:1 right, so setting the afc to 35% would be like making it like 20:1?

Re: boost problems (nigel)
changing the settings that much messes with how much voltage the map sensor reads..well, at least that's what i think...either way, it throws a map code and the car won't boost right.

ok so we got everything hooked up somewhat right, but it bogs when it goes into boost, and it bogs when it goes into vtec. also it is getting like 6 lbs of boost, but it is gutless as my girlfriends geo prizm. Its using a missing link fror an obd1 car and its a 96 obd2 prelude. could that be why?

Re: (sir3n)
The vafc should be in the negative range. easiest solution is to buy some larger (450-550cc) injectors and ditch the fmu. Otherwise, get it on a wideband a go from there.

Re: (ion_four)
or keep the fmu w/ the big injectors and run obscene amounts of boost on a stock motor........ keep leaning the car out until it stops bogging down.......should solve the problems
