Default Reading mmHg and translating it to PSI

okay i know that

760mmHg=1atm=14.7psi

so i have a vafc and i run the pressure channel and at idle it runs about ~ -550mmHg

and when flooring it it goes to 0mmHg

the car is supposeldly pushing 5psi i jes wanted to be sure...

so is there soemthing wrong that the vafc is reading 0mmHg

would teh culprit be missing link?

any help would be appreciated.. thanks

5psi = ~260mmHg

yea, you dont need a missing link AND a vafc, take off the missing link

regardless, the missing link keeps the map sensor from seeing booost, so it will read 0mmHg on the vafc...

just take the missing link off, the car should run better and it will read boost

you are running the hack if you have a vafc on there. The missing link keeps it from seeing boost, like stated above... if it did you would throw a check engine light.

I am not using the vafc for any fuel stuff....

im actually running off a vortech fmu ( yeah i know... jes saving up for s200 w/ boost)

so i guess i was right.. it was the missing link....

ill try something tonite...

thanks fellas...

so if i take out the missing link.. it will work fine? and i wont get a asthametic idle.. (fluctuating up n down?)

thanks

, if the vafc read boost it would throw a check engine because without correction it will still send that same voltage to the ecu.
you need to turn the vafc down far enough for it to cut the signal down so it doesn't read the same voltage

if you are using 450 injectors then knock it down to like -40 or so across the board. If you are still running 310s, keep the missing link on there. You won't be able to lean it out enough.

mmHg (millimeters of mercury) is used for measuring absolute pressure (vacuum), so generally you won't see anyone trying to convert mmHg to show positive pressure (psig). You can easily convert it to Psia though. The VAFC will show KGcm2 on boost if you ever get rid of the missing link.

760mmHg=1atm=14.7psi

hmmm i see.... so even if i dont use the missing link when proper fuel management i will never see positive mmHg...? and translate it to psi..

hmm thats pretty weird...i guess i jes have to wait until i install teh s200 w/boost or atleast find someone who does

tahnsk everyone...
