does vafc show boost reading?

Default does vafc show boost reading?

i have a 98 prelude and i am putting a turbo kit on this weekend, i also have a vafc and wonder if it will show a boost reading on the presure monitor. hmmmmm...

The VAFC will not show boost because depending what turbo you buy there is either the Missing Link bypass or a check valve or two. Those items vent the pressure into the atmosphere BEFORE the reach the map sensor and prevent the ECU and your VAFC (wired to your ECU) from seeing boost. If your stock ECU saw boost, it would go into limp mode and you'd get a check engine light.

There is the VAFC hack but I haven't looked into that and have no clue what it does really. Do a search as there are several posts about the hack "mod".

if you are using a greddy kit with the blue box it will read boost.....

i have the blue box and for now i use my vafc as a boost guage.
