blue smoke at idle... what could it be....

Default blue smoke at idle... what could it be....

it smokes pretty bad at idle, once i get moving though, it prety much goes away.... any ideas?

could be headgasket, thats the first thing that comes to mind.

well..... i guess that could be ok, since i need to get a thicker one anyways..... if the headgasket was cousing it to burn oil, then shouldn't the car want to overheat?

Is your return line getting backed up? Maybe some oil is backing up into the turbo and spilling out the exhuast?

blue smoke= oil
white smoke=coolant
bad rings???
bad rings would cause it to smoke at higher RPMS more than it would at idle... right?

i'll check the oil return to make sure it isn't backing up....

what about thicker oil, is it possible that the oil is to thin and slipping through the seal on the turbo?

Damn sam that thing won't stop leaking oil in one place or another.....why don't you go buy a real car!!! ROFL just kiddin...let me knwo if I can help ya man I'm a few miles out ya know.

well, that's what i was afraid of, at least i am already gonne be taking the head back off for a thicker headgasket soon, so i'll just fix it then

It could be valve stem seals or turbo seals.

If it's a new motor, it could be that the rings haven't seated properly yet.

Only way to find out is to do a test.

See if it's the motor or turbo.
