Looks great man. What sending unit are you using for the coolant pressure? I see your MAP sensor looks the same too. They look just like my AutoMeter sending units for boost and oil pressure.

I want to say that there are general 0-100psi electric sending units, not necessarily related to coolant, oil or fuel.

OP- Car looks great, I bet it feels great to have everything back together and almost ready to roll!

Right, I use the same sensor for everything. Fuel, oil, coolant pressure, Emap but the wastegate position sensor is different.

What's the reason for running a braided line on that sensor?

Joe at Locash racing said when the ran the sensor at the head they were having issues with it leaking. They ended up running it the way I did it and had no more issues. So basically I just ran it the way they suggested.

Connecting heavier sensors at a "hard point" creates an environment that leads to fracturing of the aluminum component that the sensor is screwed into. By creating a "soft" connection between the sensor port and the sensor itself, you eliminate this potential issue and failure point.

Ahh, like coiling a hard line so it doesn't work harden and break from the vibrations. Interesting!

So from what I was told the manifold was touching on those little block tabs. I guess as I tightened the nuts it forced the head enough to cause an issue but again this is a guess. I ground down the bottom of the flange to clearance so hopefully we are good to go.

Got the new Full Function EMAP setup, the manifold, turbo, wastegate, up pipe and oil lines all on and ready to go.

This is the current weight ballast which is 90 pounds, but I wanted to try a ballast that was 60 pounds. There’s a place in Phoenix called industrial metal supply and I basically call them up and have them cut me a new ballast. My buddy joe makes the tow hook ends to weld onto the ballast and I measure the placement to weld holder for the radiator and the intercooler brackets. In all it’s about $150 bucks for all the materials and it’s pretty effective.

Looking good man! Sucks to take a grinder to a new piece, doesn't it? :p Gotta do what you've gotta do, though.

Sure freaking does, I think when Full Race made the manifold they made it a bit crooked because the driver side took quite a bit of grinding. However you do not see anything since it’s on the bottom.

Better to grind it down then have issues but again these are all guesses at what caused the issue.

If the head is torqued down first, I'm not sure how the manifold would have seated properly; if this is what caused the shower during the dyno run. Was the manifold put on the head, then the head on the block?

No the motor was assembled first, let’s just say the manifold and the block tabs were very close together I don’t really think it was the problem but I eliminated any worries that this would be an issue this time around.

I didn’t get any pictures of the head gasket but I did see it and it was blown. I did see how the new 84mm gasket did hang over into the cylinder so we used the 85mm again. However you can see that JE has issues with the dowel pin area not lining up. So honestly it’s only guesses at why the head gasket blew.

Yeah, I'm familiar with that silly little issue. Mine wasn't bad though and I thought I read you somewhere about baconing. I dunno if that's a technical term, but I certainly understand it. lol! If any of the MLS layers happened to crease when being compressed between the head and block, which I could see happening in such an instance, yessir..
