ARP headstud question please help

Default ARP headstud question please help

i have read that 65-75 ftlbs but is that for the nut onto the stud or both the stud into the block and the nut onto the stud? thanks

You don't torque the studs into the block, they go in "finger tight", which means hand tight with a ratchet or allen/hex key. The torque spec given is for the nut to the top of the stud.

The paper that comes with ARP says 70-ft lbs

Taylor be careful. Make sure you know what youre doing. Once youre ready to tighten the head on you dont just crank it to 70 ft/lbs. Its a 3 stage torquingprocedure, and you start from the middle and work your way out, theres a specific bolt order. Plus I think the torque spec is a dry spec, clean everything beforehand.
