Default Did you double-nut your ARP studs?

Well... EVEN tho i didnt torque my headstuds down to spec..... when i removed the head, I was able to turn the studs by hand.

I thought maybe double nutting would help when I put them back in.

Do you guys double nut your headstuds? What torque do you tighten the studs down to when you do?

ive heard 10ft-lbs. I dont see why more would be harmful, just dont overdue it. I plan on double-nutting mine when I start my build-up tonight or tomorrow...

Also I just took a rough measurement..... with the studs torqued down to 25 ft/lbs, there is roughly 3.5" (+/- about 1/16") from deck to top of threads... is this enough for the nuts to screw on without needing more washers?

If no one can tell me I will go try and measure i bolts somewhere around here...

Here is a bump, and a picture I drew on the way out my door...

I gotta go eat with the 'rents. Do these measurements allow enough room for using just the one washer?

in case you couldnt tell, these measurements were done with a ruler capable of only 1/8"

I used the double-nut method, and torqued to about 15-20 ft-lbs, no problems whatsoever.
