What honda and engine combination would be the fastest?
I'm thinking of getting a new honda and doing engine swap to get into local drags..
I thought about following cars:
Integra 2000CC
Del Sol with K20, B18C, B16A Swap
EG8 with K20 Swap
What do you suggest me to buy? what would be the fastest?

If I had the choice with the options you have given, I'd do EG with a b16 swap instead of the K swap take the money you saved from not doing the K swap about ~3 - 4k, and put it into a turbo kit and call it a day. In the end you will be faster if thats what you are going for plus the limit is your internals.
I'd even drop the EG for a CRX but I am a huge EF fan.

thanks, it seems to be the EG is the better idea.. previously I thought about the Del Sol.
and thanks dephtone. thats true. I already have a B16 and I should think about getting a turbo kit for that.
And can some one give me a comparision between the Del Sol and the EG with engine swapped? will I be able to get more performance from EG?

In all honesty all the combos can be fast it justs depends on your wallet. Don't sleep on v6 swaps....search around honda-tech there are few threads on them. And there is a f20c in a fwd honda...so its unlimited.

I'd go with the NSX engine in a CRX. Try and stick with the three letter theme. It always works better that way.

out of the choices EG with a K series. But you did not specify how you were gonna do a 2.0 Integra. If you did a 2.0 GSR with alot of compression on a B16a tranny it would be pretty quick but it would be a high strung motor and not last as long as the others you asked about. I would do a turbo B18c in a light car like the EG hatch or CRX but the wiring in a CRX would be a pain

Re: What honda and engine combination would be the fastest?
it all really depends on what you intend to do with the car. If it will be used for daily driving and some weekend racing you really need to pay close attention to your local emissions and vehicle safety laws. Here in CA they make it really hard to legally mod our cars. But as for your question the age old recipe holds true. Get the lightest car you can and run an engine with the most power you can afford to make. An ef civic / crx or maybe a eg hatch ( cx, dx ) with a boosted b16 or b18 would be one of the most affordable options out there

True but if he just want to compete in a bracket or heads up street class he wouldn't be reaching traps over 130 - 140 really. You can have just as much fun going 11.50 in the 1/4 as you can going 9.0. It just depends on what his intentions are.

ya, it could lead to a prety nice debate. but since it's such a general question the thread usually looses steam in a hurry.

Honestly, you guys kill me.
To the OP: You're never going to get a straight answer out of this group. We've all got our ideas, as to what's fastest. Have a look around and see what people are running with what setups. There is no fastest out there. Besides that, most of the guys here don't have your average swapped car, most of them have pretty intense setups and are not good comparisons to judge by. HTH
