just by tony1's post ive seen enough...if he had his equipment properly grounded it would not be effected by EMI or RF.....i have degree's in electronics bro...dont get me started</TD></TR></TABLE>
lol, let's get started. You're telling me the timing light that wouldn't work wasn't properly grounded, the PC that runs the dyno wasn't properly grounded, and that the DFI wasn't properly grounded? They were all affected by the plug wires and all proplems went away with the switch back to Magnecor wires.

man this thread is hillarious... who would of thunk it.. all these guys who've been working on cars for year and have working with pro drag car are "clueless"..
Anyways, i'm in the market for a new ignition system and was considering crane. what do you "clueless" guys think about crane ignitions? or what m&w do you prefer?

Actually, the M&W single channel CDI and the crane PS92 coil is a great combination. But what the hell do I know....

Re: Ignition is it worth it? (tony1)
wow I read this thread and wish I had the last 5 minutes of my life back! lol.
All I have to say about MSD (My Spark Disappeared) is - who else includes a bypass plug (DIS-4,6) with the unit to check for ignition failues? haha.
As for Autronic and M&W, the reliability has never been an issue for the cars I have worked on. I'll actually disclose 100% of my experience, in 2002 when I got my Autronic SM2 and CDI, the +batt and +ign wires were switched, the led was on with batt power. I told Steve and he absolutely couldnt believe it... that was the first factory issue he had seen in the entire USA with a CDI.
Even Joel Brown's (rain gutter special) Autronic CDI , haha he poured the water out and fired it right up.
Go on to the AEM forums and look at the pile of "problems with, etc." posts.... I cant believe a bandwagon with square wheels can still roll.
The NHRA cars run MSD because they tell them to run it, they dont have a choice. Right down to the part number.
As for tire shake, that can hurt any electronic part, I remember hearing about Rado's old car shaking apart one of the Motec boxes.... it can happen with enough abuse.
And I can see 20+ volts being an issue too, someone should have remembered to turn off the kill switch when charging the car haha.
That retail on the M&W CDI-10 sounds about right, I have $479 written down here but its been a few months since updating. Got to love our dollar.
