Lip,
Umm, .. I would be the guy with the Ford experience. While you're diggin up B16 heads, .. if you happen to find another you don't need, .. .. I could use a development model as well. it would save Ben and I shipping a head back and forth.
Curtis, .. off to the races now.

I have 8 B18 heads in the shop not one B16!
OK,OK, I will make a valve opening fixture so I can start flowing them I can already forsee many sleepless nights now, and I can already see Jeff(Lip)at the shop everyday checking up on me, Man talk about peer pressure!LOL.
BTW I am buying a civic off of him if you guys want we can make it our dyno mule
I have done a few GT40 heads in my day, depending which GT40's they are, you can make decent power if put a little compression in the motor with some more cubes or a blower I think a box stock set of Trick Flows will poop all over the GT40's ported- my 2 cents
Good Luck Curtis! Your car was missing the Head Games Motorworks sticker though!

to the head porting guys. i found b16 heads for 350shipped from a very trustworthy person. this is not an advertisment of forsale items...so the rest of you import guys please do not IM me asking where and how many you can buy unless he(the guy i'm getting the heads from) sees this thread and tells me to send others his way.

I think Mr.Lip was saying that the post was directed to just the head porters on this thread not the 7000 other people who have looked at this post.
hey I was going to order the velocity probs tommorrow what angles should I get?

"my price" is 350 shipped from Cali from a good friend of mine. I'm giving that price to you guys if you need them. I'm sure you might have some friends that can give you a beat one or something...but if not... 350 is pretty damn cheap as far as i know and the reason i said...for your use only i'll get them for you at that price to your door step(not bare heads either). I directed my buddy whom i'm getting them from to this thread so he knows where they are going. He's a racer/shop owner/importer.
Any of you head guys on here try anything with different guide to stem clearances?
Pro's and con's......??????????? Mostly talking about reliability issues, not airflow of course!

There are certainly a lot of qualified people on this board that could answer your question..........it has not been answered for several reasons..........first, all the guys here have been doing it long enough to know that the peak numbers are not the most important thinbg.........second, thyat information is pretty hard earned, and although we all have shared a lot here, we can't give away everything.....also no one really wants to post our numbers because it would only serve to stir up some bidding wars on who has the highest flow numbers............doesn't make sense when it's so easy for people to jump in and say "hey my buddy ports stuff in his garage and he gets like 500cfm on a GSR head"......the bottom line is flow numbers are as easy to fake as anything else...just like dyno numbers.........
Really though.........if you can't decide who to take your heads to, just call each guy up and talk to them personally...........most any of us will gladly help you make the right decision...who ever gives you the best feeling, go with them...........

Have any of you experienced head porters worked on a VG30DETT or 90-96 300zx head?
or would you?
There isn't anyone this intelligent or this kinda knowledge on there forums, Mabey SGP outa Texas but they still don't have the years and experience you do.
Thanks for any advise weather it be for you to do it or you know someone good in this area?

300+ CFM is good at 20 inches at .500 inches of lift. SF-600 Flowbench
Its not super great, but its good.
Bottom line when buying from a Head Porting company.
You buy heads from guys who have fast *** cars. Flow numbers are not everything, a car might be faster with less flow numbers. Thats possible. You have to run the car at the track to see what it can do, after its tuned.
Buy from the company with the fast *** cars, and the most trophies.
I think Portflow had like 27? wins in drag racing alone last year? And Joe Allaniz has the worlds fastest all motor car. And alot more in the 10's.
You buy what works. You buy whats proven. No hype, just results.
Heads on the worlds fastest imports sells ported heads. Hyping up everything without any "worlds fastest titles" sells heads, but not as much. For sure.
One head porter I know, whom I admire, has like 20+ heads he is working on right now and has so much business, he doesn't even come on the internet to say anything. Because he doesn't have time. He is too slammed with business.

Picking the fastest head porter may or may not be the best solution. I agree that joe's heads have to be as good as anything out there right now but that's not to say that 4 other head porters heads on erik's car might be just as fast.
On the other hand, a great set of heads on a poor combination may only give you average results.
If joe has his heads on 20 other race cars, if they are magic, then all 20 cars must be as fast as Erik, which, of course, is not the case.
