god damnit. apparently majestic honda's sight shows the same part number for dx and si trannies for the diff bearings, even though they are different. so when i placed my order for si diff bearings, they sent me ones for a dx transmission. grrrrrrrrrr that's what i get for going through honda instead of a third party business... wait...

well i DID order every other part from them, and i am wishing i would have went through them in the first place for my stupid *** diff bearings. but no, i decided to try to save five bux by going directly through honda (go figure right?) and this is what happens. apparently i am not the first person to have this problem, i came across this thread

https://honda-tech.com/forums/transmission-drivetrain-127/d16-diff-bearing-ques-2695700/

and the o/p of that thread had the same problem as i did and it turns out that in 91 Honda's parts catalog is wrong. so I'm going to go to the stealership Monday with my bomb *** negotiator g/f and see if Honda wont be nice enough to let me exchange these for the proper ones. it's funny, the guy behind the parts counter thought that my diff wasn't stock, and that my trans had been "modified". he was like, it's not like its your fault since you ordered bearings for what you thought was a stock 91 civic si transmission.... I didn't want to argue with him about the fact that ex and si d series trannies from like 88-95 (or perhaps newer?) came with larger, 40mm bearings then the dx/cx/std/what ever models (35mm). so i now have the PROPER part number, and I'm going to get the correct ones one way or another. it's just a bitch that their parts catalog is all effed up. man this is frustrating. i was hoping that in annother week i'd be able to drop everything in and start it up for the first time in over 6 months, but i have to wait AGAIN for annother stupid *** part. guess i wont get to take my girl for one last cruise in it before she leaves.

the backs go in the same as the ef seats. the bottom is pretty much held in by the seat belt, and you have to remove the lap belt and buckle. also the metal tabs were cut off by the previous owner

so i'm out 60 bux on the bearings, but honda said they'd refund me shipping and handling if i decide to place an order online with them for the correct ones. so in almost two weeks i guess i'll have the bearings ordered. so in about 4 weeks i should be albe to FINALLY get this POS ****ing running. i'm so sick of it. it's been one thing after another, plus countless arguements.
