My 88 std hatch
the frame is not repairable, and there's already a buyer for the roof (like it's getting cut off). believe me that was my first thought. the dude was hauling *** out on some back roads up on mount hood, and the way he put it, "my turbo spooled up, and between that and my lsd i started sliding and even though i turned the wheel i kept going strait and landed in a ditch". it's pretty bad... i'm going to see if i can't find some fabric that matches the si bolster, and if i can i'm going to replace the bolster on the drivers side, it's torn...
well did a smidge of work on my car today. moved it to the other side of the drive way, then modded my timing belt cover and installed it and my crank pully. then cleared a big spot for the si i'm parting out. ill make a list of what all's for sale tonight.
well honestly the best candidate for the si would have been a full rhd clip swap. like the whole front end is twisted, heater stuff is shoved back, i'll post pix of all the damage when i get done stripping it.
ok so here's some pix of the damage on the si (again this is NOT my 88, it's the parts car i bought)
passenger side wheel well:

Drivers shock tower area:

Passenger front corner:

Radius Rod:

and i forgot to take pix of it, but the passenger shock tower is shoved back up almost into the fire wall, the front sub frame was twisted where the front lca bolts up to it (did not effect the steering rack at all though) and the fire wall is crumpled up and shoved back as well.
Also, when i was removing the rear panels i saw this:

and what surprised me the most was this:

the whole passenger side rear corner panel was replaced with an oem honda replacement panel at one time, i'd say in the last 10 years... the paint wasn't matched too well, the doors and front end were kind of flat, but the rear 1/4 panels were both shiny.

if you're talking about the literal rear sub frame, the thing that the rear lca's bolt to, it's fine. pretty much all front suspension parts are fubar though. only things that were good on the front end is the knuckles n brakes, front lower control arms, and steering rack
so i decided that i'm going to keep the sound deadening padding stuff from the si. plus i'm going to swap the entire, minty, non molested body harness into my car. trying to source an si engine harness (think i found one, just don't have the cash yet cuz adds aren't run yet grrrrrrrrz) then mod it for obd1 instead of my std ish.
DO WORK! If I get back from basic and AIT and this isnt running, i will be upset Ryan. Mainly cause I will have to do Crown Point and Larch Mountain runs without you haha
we will see how fundage goes. at this point i need fluids axles an engine harness rear rotors and my god damned diff bearings (thanks again honda... not). i FINALLY will have time tomorrow to chop up the si n get it out of the garage so i can get parts organized and put up forsale so i can hopefully make money to pay for the stuff i need. hoping to get a grip of work done on wednesday and thursday, even if it's raining....
sweeeeeet! pm sent
ok so i took some pix of my new to me rims. the tires are bald, but the rims are minty fresh since my g/f takes good care of her things.

i also replaced one of my rear speakers with some Infinity Kaapa componets, but i couldn't find the other cross over for the other speaker, so i gotta clean the garage to find some stuff. hoping to get lots done tomorrow.

so i went to the junk yard today, and scored BIG time! picked up a pair of 89 dx seats, an si engine harness, a fire wall cover thingy, and the proper fuel filter bracket (FINALLY!!) for a whopping 45 bones. i got the seats because i needed the frame from the back of them to properly finish my seap pan swap so that my dc teggy seats don't have a weird gangster lean thing going on.
i also found this guy chillin in the car i got the seats from:

going to make it work in my center console, since i don't smoke and i don't like having the ciggy lighter laying about.
