well i didnt get near as much done today as i had hoped. in fact, all i got done was i removed three of the four brake booster bolts (which is a BITCH to do when the dash is in, fml). then i spent an hour looking for my shallow 12mm socket, to no avail. i also listened to the radio in it while i was working on the brake booster removal.

hey chor!zo, do you notice a different between the 8 and 9 inch brake booster?

these showed up today:

going to run to home depot to see if i can't find a bolt that fits the fan switch on my b7 housing. if i can i'm just going to rock that since my fan switch IS brand new on my block. no need to buy another housing if this one works!! i'm hoping to get a lot done on my three days off comming up.

oh i also purchased the item circled in red off of a member here on h/t:

i had to buy it because i had to grind that bill thing off of the top of the cluster to make it work in my 88 cluster cover, and now it doesn't fit correctly with my 90-91 cluster cover.

did some work on the motor today. i became best friends with a razor blade and scrapped off 99% of all the old crusty intake manifold gasket, installed my oil pan, drivers side motor mount bracket, replaced my camshaft seal, bolted up my thermostat housing and installed my new thermostat, installed my new timing belt (which has purple writing!! so cool!) and worked on drilling out the broken bolt and bolt extractor from my vtec solenoid's mounting spot. going to have to go get some cobalt drill bits tomorrow, the ones i have aren't cutting it

pretty much get the belt to start to go on on the front of the motor, then start pushing it onto the gear in a clockwise direction, and it will stretch the tensioner out to get the slack you need.

so i picked up some more supplies today. 4 cans of gloss black spray paint, one can of gloss white, and one can of plum purple. the purple is for my valve cover and vtec solenoid, and the white is for a project my g/f and i are doing with the 17's. she told me she'd rock them IF I paint matched the inner parts of the spokes to match the color of her car. so that's what i'm going to do. also picked up some cobalt drill bits to drill out the busted extractor. going to do work now.

i decided that i am not going to resurface my fly wheel. several reasons why. there's nothing physically wrong with the mating surface, it wasn't resurfaced when the prev. owner put the clutch in it, it never slipped on me (ok it did once when i revved it up to like 4 g's and slowly let the clutch out but i had my parking brake on too) and i'm on a budget. also, i'm going to be sticking with my z6 intake manifold. yes, the y8 looks sicker, but i've been doing some research, and it appears that the y8 ads a little to the top end, but takes away from the bottom end, which is where most of my driving will be since the car IS my daily driver. on the other hand the z6 supposedly made good power all around, so z6 it is! besides, if i find that i need more flow i'll save up for a skunk2.

so how's this for checking things off luna:

install oil pan/gasket and torque to specs - DONE
install timing belt - DONE
install vtec solenoid gaskets - DONE
install thermostat - DONE
salvage a new thermostat housing from the j/y, mine some how went missing - DONE
purchase a new throwout and pilot bearing, i was told the ones i had on there were new but eh good security any ways
resurface the fly wheel - not doing, so DONE
degrease and prep the trans for paint
paint the engine and trans
purchase fluids
purchase new cap/rotor plugs and wires
convert my p28 to manual
find my jumper harness and finish it
finish my body wiring for the obd1 vtec conversion
paint brake booster
replace brake booster and master cylinder
replace brake lines
bleed brakes
put everything together in the car and start it and check for leaks

few more things:
replace lower ball joints on my knuckles
replace rear rotors
resurface front rotors
purchase pcv valve

'92 nsx. i think they wanted like 33k for it... sigh maybe in a few years i can afford something this expensive. lol

that could deff. be causing the idle issues you're having... lol. it's just four nuts to remove it, you might not even have to mess with the coolant hoses

If that is the Acura of Portland by 122nd and Stark then I believe that is the owners car. Ryan with the S13 2JZ swap works there. I see it leave maybe once in a blue moon. It moves inside the shop at the end of the night and then out at the beginning of each day.

BTW nice valve cover paintin you got there Ryan.

edit : I see the MT Hood Motorsports in the far of the picture. Yeah thats Acura of Portland. Ill see if I can get you his discount when I see him next.

awe damn now you tell me lol yes that is acura of portland, just off 122nd and stark. ya, that nsx is HELLA modded. hella stickers too. yet SO clean. nsx and type r are one of very few car's i'd actually finance. everything else = cash only. oh i'd finance a humve (the army ones not the ghetto stupid box's on wheels that people think are so cool that have come out) too.

so i bought a new window switch on ebay since there werent any ef's in my local yard this time. hooked it up, window problem solved! so tomorrow i'm going to cut my door panels to get my switches to fit into them. also, i picked up my tb gasket from acura today. wtf!! EVERY vehicle, and i mean EVERY new acura has the same god damn front end! parrot beak ftmfl!!!
