woo hoo!! i got some work done today on my engines... started off honing my d15b, only to discover cylinders two and three were pitted beyond repair via honing, and would need to be bored out probably .020 over to be usable. so i though ok well i know my cylinder walls are still good on my d15b1, so i'll just use that instead. so i go to pull it all apart, and first thing i notice is the crap load of rtv sealer used as an oil pan gasket. i thought that was weird, but not as weird as the 10mm fender bolt that was just chilling in the bottom of my oil pan. yes that's correct, there was in fact a 10mm bolt in my oil pan. not sure how it got there, but i thank god that it didnt give me any trouble while driving in the hills. anyways i then notice something hanging out of my oil pick up, and think OH crap it's part of a bearing. no, even worse, it was a chunk of rtv sealant that had broken off of the pick up screen. upon closer inspection, i found that it was like 80% clogged with rocks and pieces of rtv sealant... so that explains why my head always looked so clean and starved for oil...

after that i pull my rods out, to find that while the main bearing journals stayed well lubricated, my rod bearings are all half spun, probably due to me accidently running it low on oil several times since it was mass consuming oil. i also noiticed that my rings werent really clocked at all. on one, the gaps were right in a row..... thank god i had no problems honing either block.

so needless to say, i'm going to be combining two motors to make one. the pistons, rods, bearings and crank from the d15b are going into the d15b1. then i will FINALLY have a good running, non smoking engine.

Bolt and big chunk of rtv:

hahaha wow nice.

YAY!!! my full gasket kit came in yesterday. today i picked up some supplies to clean up my very much so pitiful excuse of a wire tuck. i am ashamed of how disgusting and how unsafe my tuck is. the first one i ever did was so clean and thought out and well placed... i want mine to be that way like my last one, so i'm going to re do it again! i wish i could get my hands on some braided loom for my tuck, but it will live with out it i suppose.

i don't blame you, i rode a small slow one once, hella fun... although i'd much rather have a built go cart.

as far as my car goes, i bought a new sub for it, my one black Friday splurge. Phoenix Gold RSD 12(d? not sure) dual voice coil 4 ohm sub. beats a little harder than my dual, but wait untill i get a ported box for it. i have a pair of octain r 10d's in my van and the same subs in kates car, both in ported boxes, makes so much bass. people have a hard time believing that we have tens.

Any ways I also bought a full set of stainless steel brake lines for my car. technically they're for a crx si with rear disc brakes, but they should bolt up the same ya? used, but hardly. they have maybe 3000 miles on them, so i can be worry free now. also, i'm trying to find a full set of good looking 17's for my girlfriends car, she said that if i buy her some 17's she'd give me her fifteens, which means ex knuckle swap asap!!! lol

thanks man. i'm tryin to get stuff done, but i get split days off, so not much gets done at one time, specially when i keep getting all my days off on the same days my g/f gets off and she is constantly demanding my time else where. looks like you have a nice motor setup, i wish i had that. lol then again i wish i had ANY motor in my car right now, things just sitting in pieces waiting for me to order rings headstuds and a timing belt kit... then finish converting it to obd1...

i finally get a day off tomorrow! score! going to get some work done tomorrow. wiring work and engine bay work that is. my buddy brandon told me he would help me build a box specifically for my trunk. it's going to set the sub in the spare tire well, and will have a false floor to increase box size

Speaking of that is what I am getting next. 6.5hp kart with full suspension and a small cage. Plan on throwing a 13hp motor on it, and a 5 or 6 speed dirtbike transmission. should be a blast to use at the beach too haha with it being a 13hp it should be able to haul you and me around since its a 2 seater. plan on getting it this spring and then having it ready to go with the new motor by winter.

Default Re: My 88 std hatch

several reasons.
1. I already have rear discs, I have installed a 15/16ths mc and am going to be installing my ex knuckle swap soon, and next spring/summer i'm going to be upgrading to an 11.1" front set up and a 10.2" rear set up.

2. I found a full set for sale on here with less than 3k miles on them for 65 bux shipped, front and rears for a 91 crx si. hella good deal

3. AFIK the three other brake lines are as old as 1988 and 1991. I had one blow out on me when I had to make a sudden stop, and I don't want that to happen again, and one line cost me 20 bux, so three more brake lines would cost me 60. so the extra five dollars is worth it IMO

4. SS brake lines are blingin. rubber lines aren't... lol

yeah. only get dot approved ones. and read up on the pro's and cons of them. like every one, i'll most likely go back to oem brake lines when i upgrade my brakes, but for now these will work nicely

ooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeah bout to buy me some new hid's for my car. ebay (yes, i know) has some good deals going on right now. but hey, if i can get two sets for under a hundred bux, that's a deal ya? plus they come with a two year warrenty. that would be sylvanias for the brights (and for 55 watts, they are BRIGHT) 5000k HID's for the lows, and 3000K for the fogs. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol i'll probably just get one set for now tho.

also, these showed up the other day:

stock piling parts is so much fun
