Bucking on downshift into vtec
Now that the weather is warm, I've been out doing some spirited driving against other cars. One issue I've ran into is downshifting into 2nd in VTEC is causing the car to buck uncontrollably. Its extremely annoying. Any idea what could be causing it?
The car is a 82mm gsr, high compression, e85 tuned on crome. It made 212whp at 9k for reference.

There is no wideband in the car at this time. I've only had it out a week.
I pulled the plugs and they looked fine.
The grounds seem good, but I'll double check them.
The only time this happens is when downshifting into VTEC. It pulls fine at all other times and never misses.

Hopped up engine on CROME and no wideband... riiigghhhttt... Most likely your tune sucks and is too lean when you downshift.

It was tuned on a dyno with a wideband last fall and stored over winter. I just haven't gotten around to buying a wideband for the car.
Didn't know 212whp was "hopped up"..

When building a high performance engine one of the MOST important things to have is a wide band AFR gauge. 212 whp is a stout B series, i know cause iv had many B series engines. Get a wide band to monitor the afr. You should look into doing some maintenance on the engine since its been stored over winter then retune the engine on the dyno.

Re: Bucking on downshift into vtec
You have over 1.5x factory whp and don't think it's modified? Interesting concept, but OK; then again you street race soo... Also, just because it was dyno tuned doesn't mean it's good. Most will polish off a street car on the street after the dyno tune and fine tune at the track if it's a track car. What do your datalogs read on what's going on - post some screen shots.
