Re: OT- Guest Bartending Mar 2 to benifit Ron Katona Motorsports Foundation (SicNA94TegGsR)

Dunno how many people on this board knew Ron, but he was a good guy. I was really just starting to get into motorsports still. Best of luck with the fundraiser. I'm stuck on-call.

Re: NASA VIR Enduro - Awesome Fun (NASAREGISTRAR)

It is not easy being a taper. That's the role I had to fill at the end of my SCCA comp school. The start of a race is a bitch!

Re: NASA VIR Enduro - Awesome Fun (Hunter)

I got a close up view of Parker's off. It happened right in front of me. I thought he was going to save it at first. Oops. Pretty light hit though.

Re: AllView rear view mirror mounting (SpiceyRice)

Be careful where you mount it. I whacked my longacre rearview mirror while taking off my helmet. I swapped to a wink after that incident. Turns out I like the wink better anyhow.

Re: NASA VIR Enduro - Awesome Fun (Honda318dx)

That was fun. Good weekend, but miserably cold on saturday and sunday. The enduro was a blast. An hour and half is a long time to be out there, and I don't think the car would have stayed out much...

Re: E Production with a ITR? (PaulB)

Dennis Lentz is prepping one in the DC region. I think it would be a hoot in E prod form.

Re: Attention: Chad is stranded in Alabama (paRRRker)

Sounds like the fuel injectors may be going. It's a common problem with early Duramaxes.

I wouldn't put any anti-gel in. This time of year, stations already use winter formula, besides he's well...

Re: Rolling race shell for sale - eg (Littleton)

So I tried to buy this car, but your co-owner refused to ever call back. Sure would have been nice to get at least a courtesy update. Good luck to the new owner.

Re: VID: This Evo murders you guys at Laguna SCCA Honda Cup :p (HapaHaole)

Oye. I don't know how you make Hoosiers sound like that. That thing looks like it handles worse than my Evo + rear swaybar did.

The brake squeal happens on those cars if you use Ferrari F40...

Re: which brake fluid for HPDE (DirtySol)

Not the case. System was fully bled. Have you ever tried a full tilton race clutch setup? The clutch pedal travels maybe 2 inches.

Re: which brake fluid for HPDE (.RJ)

It's soft compared to any other fluid. It's consistent in that it doesn't boil, but the pedal just feels crappy.

Then there's the time when there was no brake fluid in Steve's shop other than a...

Re: which brake fluid for HPDE (.RJ)

Best brake fluid I've ever used:

http://www.bakerprecision.com/neobrk.htm

Andie @ Cobalt can give you details on it. Motul gives you a soft pedal.

Re: Racers can't survive without a good jack...and there's hardly such a thing any more...this sucks

You won't regret the AC jack. We've been using it at the shop on a daily basis for over 2 years now. Best jack we've ever used. I also own one of the aluminum jobbies from Harbor Freight. It's...

Re: Autozone Axles... (LX4CYL)

I used to use Autozone stuff w/o a problem until I went racing. Had a catastrophic axle failure on Lowes Motor Speedway with an Autozone reman. Never again.

Re: Sparks from brakes? Cool!!!! (.RJ)

4 hours of hard track time / racing on ITR sized pads is not unreasonable.

HPDE? I can make the same pads last half a season.
