Default obd0--->obd1 or obd2?

I am currently running a b18c1 in my obd0 91 civic hatch.
My motor is from a 98 gsr so it was originally obd2.

Should I convert to obd1 or obd2?

What parts will I need to upgrade if I go to either one?
I'm guessing o2 sensor, distributor?

I would say OBD1. You'll need distributor, obd1 or 2. Make sure if you have the b18c injectors that your not running the injector resistor box, run an 0bd1 p72 computer and you'll need the 02 aswell. other then that your all set.

Oh also, get the obd0-obd1 plug from someone like LOCASHRACING or something...they are pretty good from what I hear.

well since the P72 is OBD1 your going to have to convert to OBD1 anyways.

The P72 can be OBDI or OBDII...or even OBDII version 2. The nice thing about the '98 though, is that it has the same harness as the OBDI '94 and '95.

It would be smarter, much smarter, to go OBDI. Aside from going with an AEM ECU, you can have the OBDI modified by Hondata, whereas the OBDII ECU cannot be modified. Something to think about if you are going to do some heavier mods in the future.

Good luck!

Convert to OBD1. OBD2 would be a big headache.

Why would an obd0 ecu not work with an obd1 or obd2 distributor when an obd1 ecu will work with both?

It has to do with internal differences of the distributors. OBD0 have 16 teeth. OBD1 and OBD2 have 24 teeth.

Hondata isn't the only person who can modify an OBD1 ECU - there are plenty of low rent kids out there modifying their own.

It can't?

I have a stock Euro Honda CRX 1.6VT (SiR) with a B16A1/PW0 and want to convert from OBD0 to OBD1.

Do I need to replace my OBD0 distributor an injectors?

I don't have a swap in my CRX, it's a standard European Honda CRX with a B16A1.

Just your distributor.

You sure about this? I thought you need..

obd1 distributor, injectors, o2 sensor, and ecu?

Ok, thanx. I already thought so, I guess I got confused because someone said on the forum that the distibutor wasn't necessary...

So I need:

- OBD1 ECU like P28/P30 (for Uberdata)
- OBD0 -> OBD1 conversion harness
- OBD1 distibutor
- 4-wire Honda O2-sensor

I can keep the OBD0 injectors because there's already a resistor box, right?

you have to convert/address other things as well, i.e. VSS sensor signal to obd1 ecu, o2 sensor wiring for 4 wire or locating a 1 wire close enough to head via custom bung on header in order to heat up the element.

locash's harness is good i use them, he's cheap too.

Yes, you need a 4-wire O2 sensor and obviously an ecu.

what about the injectors though? dont you need obd1 injectors if you want to convert from obd0 to obd1?

You can keep the OBD0 injectors if you retain the factory resistor box. OR you can use OBD1 injectors and remove the resistor box. Either way works fine.

There's actually (admittedly minor for such small injectors) a difference in injector opening times and duration of fuel flow - most disparate when comparing @ idle versus the higher revs - when using a high Z injector driver to open a high Z injector and using a high Z injector driver to open a low Z injector across a **** box. Er, resistor box, sorry

Not that I haven't run high Z OBD1+ injectors on an OBD0 ECU, stock program, with good results. It's "close enough," you only see big problems esp with idle quality when you start running the big guns across a fu- er, resistor box.

Now, I'm confused. They talk about a G00 ECU over here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=249451

1. I have a Euro ECU PW0 and I want to do the conversion. But apparently I cannot use a US ECU P28/P30? Or can I?
2. I know that the US spec has a knock sensor where the Euro has not. But I can disable that with Uberdata, right?

Can someone help me out?

Who? The topic is about conversion from OBD0 to OBD1 or OBD2.

to convert from OBDII to OBD1, all you need is an ECU conversion harness and OBD1 ECU, so im assuming that the OBDII injectors/distributor/sensors are compatible with an OBD1 ECU.
