Bearing in mind that I live in South Africa, where we dont have a big range of honda engines, which cylider heads will or can be made to fit D16A block.

WHICH D16A block? D16A6? D16A1? D16A3? That makes a huge difference.

Never heard of that one before. Are you sure it doesn't say D16A1 with a big serif on the one? What car does it come in?

The D16A7, like many of Honda's engine codes, is specific to one continent. I believe that the A7 is a single cam, however I'm unsure as to whether it is a VTEC engine or not. If it is a VTEC engine, then there is no practical reason to swap the head, however if it is a non-VTEC engine, then finding a VTEC head would be most beneficial.

Correct! It's a single cam 16v non vtec.

In that case, try to locate a head from a D16Z6 and a P28 ECU. Also get a complete gasket set for the head, and a new timing belt. Do some research on the "Minime" swap to find out more.

Unfortunately I don't think that engine is available in our country. All VTecs here are DOHC. Thanx anyway any other suggestions?

Buy one off of someone here on Honda-Tech, and have them send it to you.

With the Rand to Dollar rate as it is , and import duties, I don't think that would be possible. It would be too expensive. The Rand is currently trading at R6,68 to buy 1 dollar.
