OBD2 motor into a OBD1 car?
Did a search, but didn't find anything useful..
I have a 92 EG hatch with an OBD1 B18C1 motor and OBD1 P28 ecu with Hondata. I'd like to swap in a OBD2 B18C1 motor with OBD2 ecu (P72), but not sure what I need to do.
Do I just need an OBD2 motor + OBD2 engine harness? What about the instrument cluster, since it is ODB1, how do I plug it into the OBD2 ecu?
Thanks!

Yes do just as salbaje said both OBD1 and OBD2 use the same impedance. I would so however cut out the sensors that you don't need to make it look cleaner. For instance the crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor and the secondary O2 are no good for you on a OBD1 car.

the only diff beteweet the 2 is the dist plug and the injector plugs. thats all you will have to change if you use the different harness.
use the obd2 harness with distributor and obd1 ecu
Thanks

All I would have to do then, is to buy a new OBD1 distributor and fuel injector plug and splice the wires into it? Does anyone make a convert harness for this (would rather not splice and dice)Thanks guys!
