Default Metal chips in the oil PAN?????!!!!!!!

OMG i found some slivers of metal in my pan today when i was replacing the oil pump. WTF are they???? Is my motor going to die???? Im so freakin scared right now one of them looked like a spring almost, a very small one and it pulled like a spring. WTF is gong on inside my motor. Its a B16a3. Help!!!!

Usually when you see little metal slivers, it's either the rod or main bearing going out. since you are changing out the oil pump, you might want to take a look at the bearings as well before they completely go out and mess up the crank.

If you have a Vtec motor, check the little screen on the oil pressure switch for debris. My friend neglected to do this and could'nt find vtec for a week...

How do i do that???

Usually when you see little metal slivers, it's either the rod or main bearing going out. since you are changing out the oil pump, you might want to take a look at the bearings as well before they completely go out and mess up the crank.

It should really be looked at by a machinist. Tear it down, take the internals to the shop and have them go over it all. That way you're not going to make a mistake

If you don't know what you're looking for it's gonna be hard. You might want to take it to somebody that know the sign when they look at the bearing. Sinister is absolutly correct on that matter. You don't want to take a chance with rod and main bearings.

yes ill agree
spinning a bearing may not just hurt the pocketbook for labor, you could damage the crank, beyond repair. thats BAD.
definatley pull the motor and take it to someone who knows how to dissasemble a bottom end and inspect the bearings.
