Default How to pull a Motor.

I have pulled my motor before as a whole. What i was wondering is that can I pull the motor in pieces, Start by pulling off the head, droppin the tranny then the oil pan and finally drop the block.

Is it doable.

I have an engine hoist but i dont have much room to work with it.

Thanks

It can be done that way, but there's really and truly no point. If you're going to completely disassemble everything, then pull it as a whole and then take it apart.

Well here is what i am doing, I want to pull it in pieces because the block is getting sleeved and possible some headwork so they will have to be seperate.

Separating everything in the car just creates more headache. Take it out and then separate it.

It will be a lot easier and friendlier on your back to take all that stuff off after the engine is pulled from the car.

Just pull everything as whole and seperate when you have it on the ground. Less bruised knuckles.
