DIY Vtec controller?
Not really a good idea.
Not really a good idea.
Anyway, it is kind of complicated because V-TECHK engagement is determined by coolant temp/oil pressure/vehicle speed/rpm and maybe more? SO, you'd have to modify all those inputs...or, maybe just get an MSD rpm activated switch, replace the "pill" with a 5k ohm potentiometer, so you can adjust it to whatever you want (0-~6500rpm) (then wire up a relay so this makes a ground, rather than a 12v signal) and then put that in place of the solenoid signal (ground) wire from the ECM and you might be able to lower vTeKCH a little without throwing a code...If you raised it in this manner, I think you might throw a code without changing other signals, since all the signals would show a 'go' to the ECM, but nothing would happen as far as VTECH is concerned.
