Comp. ratio 4 my ls/vtec
Whatsup evryone I've tried searching and I cant seem to find any straight answer. Im just wondering what the compresion ratio should be for my ls/vtec setup(all stock internals with 94gsr head) and also how these numbers sound for that setup...in order from 1-4 205,195,210,210. (thats my comp test at closed throttle)
Thanks 4 any input.

static comp should be a little under 10:1. your numbers are within spec, even tho the 195 is a tiny bit lower, i wouldnt sweat it
I thought compression tests were supposed to be done with the throttle wide open... what do the numbers tell you if the throttle is closed?

You are correct about WOT. jdm91integragsr needs to redo the test with a warm engine and WOT to record meaningful numbers.

Thanks 4 all your input I did the test with closed trottle on a semi cold engine(deff wasnt warmed up) that means i should get higher numbers correct?
Thanks again

Your compression is fine.
You either don't have spark or you don't have fuel. You can check for spark by inserting a screwdriver into a spark plug wire and holding the shaft about 1/4" away from ground (like the valve cover) and have a helper crank the engine over. Make sure you check at the spark plug and also at the coil. If you have no spark at the spark plug but you do out of the coil then you might have a bad rotor or both cap/rotor. If everything checks OK, you need to determine if it is getting fuel. An easy check is to use some carb clean by spraying about a 3-second spray into the intake (this will act as fuel). If, when you crank over the engine, the engine sounds like it wants to start or starts and then dies, then you have no fuel (or you're running too rich while cranking). To determine what could cause this condition, check the fuses (all of them!) of course, then from there the diagnosis may get a bit more complicated.
