Default compression testing?

Hi I'm just wondering how many times should you crank the ignition while doing a compression test? I was told 5-7, but I noticed my compression kept going up until 9-10 times. Also is it alright to release the throttle between cranks (I just presss the gas pedal down) or should throttle be held open during every cylinder test ( i.e. zip tieing the throttle open) Thanks.

Yeah, 5-7 should really do it. Make sure to have all your plugs out when doing it, though.

It is fine to close the throttle when not cranking. Just remember to go back to WOT before testing the next.
