B16 always grinds going into third low Rpms or high Rpms. This only happened after I changed my mounts to stiffer mounts and running a stage 4 clutch. I even changed trannys and it still does it. Also I'm running a synchromesh too. If I shift fast it grinds but if I depress the clutch and wait a few seconds it won't grind going into third. What could be my deal here??

 

It does it in no other gears? just 3rd?

You might just have 2 bad 3rd gear synchro's my gsr 3 and only 3rd grinds. don't suppose you have a 3rd trans lying around you could try

 

by replacing the motor mounts...it would not have caused the trans to all of a sudden start grinding going into 3rd, regardless.

Is the clutch properly installed?

 

I've heard the B series has a knack for 3rd gear grinding.

 

Yeah my cousins ls vtec always had a problem with the b16 tranny...

 

Clutch is installed fine.
