My. 3rd gear grinds at high rpm . I'm. Still trying to Figure Out What's wrong with it. I changed the clutch due to some advice. But. Didn't. Work. Do I need to change the tranny.?

Not really crappy transmissions but that is aside the point. 3rd usually is the one to grind because it is ridden the most. Try to push the clutch in, pop neutral, clutch out, clutch in, grab third. See if that at least helps until you can get it to a shop, unless you feel like replaceing the syncros.

If you are already grinding at every RPM, no fluid will cure it. You need new synchros. Sometimes it is cheaper to purchase a used tranny. However, if you are going to rebuild the transmission, take the time to put in all new synchros and decide which gears you want--if you are all-motor but DD your car, many people would say put the LS fifth gear in your transmission.

Yes. If you are planning on rebuilding/replacing, put the cheap stuff in as it won't matter.

I would be wary of anecdotes like that. It is simply not plausible that a fluid could cure a damaged sychro.
