LS-T t3/t04e turbo, sputtering problem when accelerating. Help!
Ok. So I just finished my turbo setup, it's a 95 integra ls with a cast manifold, t3 to4e .50 a/r. 440cc precision injectors, open downpipe, 2.25 coldside pipes, 2" hotside. stock map sensor, ngk 7's, ebay bov, and tial wastegate. basemap is on chrome. ok after getting a basemap from xenocron's website, i got the best that matched my setup. the problem is when i put any load on the gas, it's start sputtering and backfires like crazy. I can't even build boost. until i granny shift to 5th gear and lightly open throttle then it'll creep up to like 1 to 2 psi. i tried 3 different basemaps. still no go. My questions are, i used the da obd1 ecu to get chipped instead of my stock p75 ecu to get chipped, will that cause a problem? also my check engine light is on due to the fact that chrome wasn't working at the time and my friend couldn't clear the check engine light and other stuff. what else can cause sputtering and almost like fuel cut when load is applied?
thats what i want to hear. thanks guys! I mean my first turbo honda, it didn't sputter like this one. i guess it was a better basemap. i don't know. I got to go down to the tuner and see what he could find. also gapping on the ngk 7's, what are the common gapping specs for my setup? i bought the ngk7bkre11 the pre-gapped one. just wondering if that may cause an issue.
You should take those plugs out right now and Gap them down to about .025ish. I have mine lower but for youre power levels. .024-.026 should be ok
As they sit right now you are definatly blowing the spark out with boost. Get it tuned, you shouldnt even be driving it till its tuned. Stay out of boost till then
thanks guys. I now hooked the stock ecu and disconnected my ic piping so i won't hit boost. that shouldn't be a problem right? and def. thanks for the gap specs. .025 sounds much better. I really had .044 gap for a day. so I'll check em to see if they're ok. but i think mostly it's from the map.
