What psi have you run on a 9.5:1 motor on 93oct?
If you're running around 9.5:1 compression, what have you run for boost/timing on 93 octane?
I've got a built motor running 9.5:1 compression on a 62mm turbo. On 93 octane (with meth injection) I run 25psi on the street. Looking at blocks in the ECU, I'm seeing no timing retard due to IAT or knock sensor readings. On an 80deg F day IAT's on 20psi boost were around ambient, about 78deg F.
Reason I'm asking is to see if others can compare their boost or target timing. My target timing right now is 21deg at 8k rpm.
The difference between 20psi and 25psi 'feels' like an easy 50whp. This turbo is on the lower end of its efficiency range at 25psi, on my motor anyway.
I feel I could gain about 20whp by upping timing to 22deg, or try 30psi.
What have others done or seen?
