ok this is a dumbass question, but i work around heavy equipment everyday, a coworker offered me the turbo from his diesel tractor the housing is about the same size as my brothers garret t3 can a turbo from a deisel engine work in a high revving gas engine? i seem to recal a f20(?) powered ef in super street last year that had a tractor supply turbo, what would need to be changed?

 

Diesel turbos can be used, but the biggest thing you need to find out is what turbine wheel/compressor combination is used.

 

It can be used as long as you can spin the thing...some are very big turbos.

 

Search holset turbos + honda.

 

I run an RHC7 found on hitatchi heavy equipment vehicle and its been working out pretty good for me ~300whp 8psi, built gsr. T4 divided footprint, has 56mmcompressor, 62mm turbine (inducers). Wants a lot more boost though 5100ish full boost maybe a bit sooner (cx dash= no tach). I say if you got it free/dirt cheap.... run it
