Default 1997 civic ex with jdmb18c swap obd2 diagonisic plug not reading codes look

so here we go i got a 97 civic ex with a jdm b18c swap im runnin a obd2a gsr ecu,, civic ex engine harness,,,,everytihng runs good and i can manuelly check the codes by jumping the blue plug but when i plug in my obd2 scanner it turns on and it starts to read the codes and then says no connection what going on is it not reading because of the ecu im runnin any input will help

is it a usdm gsr ecu?

JDM ecus do not have the protocall

i think it might be a European gsr ecu sounds correct ,,anyone know how can i tell

this may or may not help but i noticed on cars that if you take the light out for the check engine light behind the cluster. a code scanner will NOT work.

well the sticker on the ecu should point you the right direction, it'll say what it is and you'll just have to look for an ecu chart to find out what you have

know i believe it european isent the jdm ecu and the european ecu the same
