how can i tell if ecu is dead?
i have an ecu out of a 95 civic ex that'll be used in a swap this weekend. the civic it came out of was in an accident and the ecu case itself is kinda tweaked, but the pcb inside isn't cracked or damaged (nothing i can see at least). after the ecu goes in the car, how can i tell if it works or not?

Re: how can i tell if ecu is dead? (serious)
plug it in and turn the key 2x. see if the check engine/seatbelt light pops up, if it doesnt, then its dead because the ecu isnt reading the sensors. in your case, i would have to say that the ecu is still good, but you never know. good luck
