bad idle problem getting worse. please help.
1993 honda civic cx 96 b18b swap. some simple ad ons and bolt ons.
I finally got around to testing the tps and iacv. had strep throat for the past couple of days..felt like ****. anyways, i unplugged the iacv sensor while the car is running...nothing happened. kept idling at 1200 no fluctuation. so i replugged it and unplugged the tps sensor. same thing. unplugged MAP, the car dies. is that a good thing or bad?
and then i took off my air intake and plugged the hole in the TB leading to the IACV. the car bogged down and died. i think thats a good thing isnt it? and then i started her back up and covered the entire TB. first time i didi this lol. it gave a strong suck on my palm and died.
so what does all this mean? are my snsors bad? is the iacv bad? is the map bad?

hmmm... good diagnosing so far lol...
so you have deduced its not your fitv, because your car dies when its pluged, and its not a LARGE vacuum leak since the car dies when throttle is covered.
your car is supposed to die when your map is unplugged.
check for smaller vacuum leaks, since 1200 idle isnt that high... could be a smaller leak. if your not throwing codes its probobly not a sensor...

im throwing a vtec code. but i dont have vtec. they used a vtec harness in my non vtec engine. it ran fine since last august so i know its not the vtec CEL. and i dont have fitv. its a 1996 b18b. they dont have fitvs. its only got the iacv. the other thing is if i push on the throttle turning thing. i dont know what its called. the thing u can twist by hand to rev it up. if i push on it the opposite way form revving..it iwll get stuck . like it feels like theres playdoh in there lol. ive looked at it and felt it and i cant feel anythign. last time....my car was dying on me lol. this is 150 % opposite lo. last time i pulle dthe entire intake manifold off and cleaned everythign including iacv. and it worked fine. then one day it decided to tak e a dump on me and idle low. so i think its the iacv....sorry for the novel. lol.
and the tps is giving me **** readings. .33.45.92 u get the idea. and my throttle screw...is all the way out...so its not even touching the throttle at all. and still idles at 1200.
put your idle screw back where it belongs, how are you measuring your tps? those readings are kind of random... you should be at about .5 volts with a fully closed throttle.
