Need some advice please
ok guys here my lil problem ... i have a 00si and for some reason when sitting at a stop light the rpms would go up really high to like 2000rpms and bounce just a little bit but once i started driving every little touch off or on the gas would be really jerky but when i turned my car off and back on it would be gone for a lil bit and i posted up something on here and alot of people told me it was my IACV so finally about a week ago i bought a used iacv from a friend and put it in a couple days ago and everything was good ... untill today !!! it started doing it again ... and someone told me it could be my map sensor ?!? and i was wanting to see if thats possible or what else it could be ... thanx guys!!

Now that you've replaced the IACV, did you rebleed the coolant?
Is it a bone stock '00 Si? How many miles? Done any work/maintenance to it recently (besides the IACV)?

its pretty much stock ... just short ram and it has 56,000 miles ... no major maitence other than master cylinder ... but i'm pretty sure its something electrical ... but i did buy the iacv from a friend so i'm thinking about going and buying another ... because i was throwing an iacv code

Did you rebleed the coolant? When you replace the IACV, you have to undo coolant hoses going to it which introduce air into the coolant system.

You're NOT looking for leaks in the coolant system. The fact that you have replaced the IACV means you introduced air into the coolant system....which you have to bleed out.

An IACV will usually throw a check engine code when it's bad:
IS YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON?
Also I've seen an idle mixture screw backed out some, which caused an idle control malfunction code, which people automatically assume is the IACV every time, which isn't the case.

Exactly what code is it throwing?

If he just replaced his IACV then it's obvious to everyone it's air in the coolant...
One has to assume if he ignored the first two responses and wasn't completely aware he even had to bleed it in the first place, until he bleeds the system he's going to continue having the problem (or others) regardless of the code he's throwing...

yea i say bleed tha coolant... I just changed a head gasket. and put it back on. and the idle was of course bouncey. The more air i got out. they smoother the idle got.(thats saying sumthng). ANYTIME u disconnect a coolant hose. MAKE SURE U BLEED THA SYSTEM.
