how can i tell if the MAP, IACV, or TPS is bad? concerning idle issue
hello all. just to summarize real quick:
1993 honda civic with 96 ls swap. simple bolt ons. no idea what the dyno is lol.
so my car idles at 1200 rpm. it used to idle at a perfect 500-750 rpm. the throttle screw...the one your not supposed to turn...is completely out...the throttle spinny thing is not resting on it at all.
so heres what i did:
1. unplugged the IACV sensor while car running=no fluctuation in idle. still running at 1200 rpm. doesnt it mean the iacv is bad? then i unplug the TPS and same thing it keeps idling at 1200.
2. i unplug MAP sensor. car dies. i heard this is a good sign.
3. so then i check the voltage to the TPS with key ON (II). voltage reads .33v. so i adjust the screw till it reads.45volts and start the car. idles at 2200 rpm. so im like wtf and readjust it till it idles at 1200 and the screw is completetly out again.
4. i repeat process five times and each time i get a different reading with key turned ON (II). like .45v, .67v, .92v, .33v. etc.
so what is going on? ive driving the car liek this for a month. it runs fine but idles at the 1200 sometimes 1500 if i drive it fast. any ideas?
