Default adjusting wastegate pressure

I am new to the turbo scene, but not to motors, so I am installing my turbo kit on my civic D16Z6 and wondered which way or how to adjust the wastegate to lower the boost down to practically nothing for the first start up. It was sent to me with it set at 7 psi. Do I just turn the screw on the top counterclockwise?

So im assuming you have a external wastegate, you wont have to lower your boost, just dont put your foot in it too bad. 7lbs isnt to harsh on any motor anyways (like everyone says tune it) good luck

Post your setup if you want more feedback

so the wastegate cant really be adjusted? or is it easier to just get a manual boost controller for like 50 bucks and call it a day?

but u have a twin turbo 302?

oh and btw, the car wont build boost while at idle so u can do the intitial start up without having to worry about running lean. Just dont go revving it to 6k

i'd just start the car and let it get warm a few times then trailor it to get it tuned good luck

haha yes, i bought the turbo kit for it, but havent put it on yet... I have 2 motors for the mustang, the one in it right now is only a 302 that I run nitrous on... Meanwhile I am buildling up a 306 with all forged internals, and had it fully balanced at machine ship +/- 1 gram so it can spin up to 7k easy. That is what I am putting the twin turbo kit on once it is done. Meanwhile im getting my turbo "career" started with the civic and learning the ropes.

oh man this is so the wrong place to brag about a 7000rpm redline , and as everybody said dont worry about initial start up the turbo wont boost at idle, also a boost controller CAN NOT reduce boost below spring pressure, it can only raise it. good luck with the build...

the turbo will not build boost @ an idle.

you can also drive the car(non erratic) and not go into boost......

you cant adjust the spring to have less "pressure"...

you have to buy a new spring.

Cutting the spring would be a really bad idea.
