Default CEL help

hey guys my check engine light is on but when i try to get a code by using the ecu jumper i dont get anything, i have used 3 different paperclips and nothing is working, can someone help me figure out why it isnt working and what i can do? thanks everyone who helps

i cant drive it anywhere, sunday it decided to stop running, saturday it drove perfect and sunday it wouldnt start

what are you talking about?

you can still use the jumper trick on 92-00 civics and 94-01 integras

the paperclip should work. i have a 98Ej6 and my friend has used the paper clip on it numerous times

is there 2 certain holes it has to go in or can it go into either top or bottom?

your most likely doing it wrong

use a wire its easier to jam it in there good

In the future you should just get this

hows the metra work the same way? stick the wired end up in the pins.. also is there anyway i couda forced a paperclipo to far or to hard and thats why it doesnt work?

when you look at the clip, there should be a distinction between which part you stick the paperclip into. you should see two metal tabs that you can see more of on one side. this is the side you want to stick them into. it should also be easier to slide in than the other side.

question: can u mess anything up trying to do this yourself.. i had wire in my hand and i was about to do it them my gut said "Put the wire down before your fry something ".. aother reason was because i have 2 clips to choose from...
