I have a 95 gsr with ls vtec. I jsut put my rsr exhuast on last night and today while i was driving my cel light came on. I had been driving with my new exhuast on for several hours already wiht no problems. I know its obd1 so i dont think i have the 02 sensor. When i tried to check it and i turned the ignition the cel came off. And when i start the car it will be off for 10 seconds then come on. Any ideas what the problem is? thanks for the help

Have you tried pulling codes?

 

i did try to get the code but when i go to do it the cel light turns off

Have you tried pulling the code at this point in time? Reason I ask is because I always see people trying to pull codes with just the key turned to "accessory". I've always tried to pull codes ( if one popped up ) with the car running unless it was an electrical issue, or the motor won't start

 

so you have to start the car?

 

I would....since that seems to be the only time it ever comes on. I'm thinking it may be a sensor. But I dunno for sure. There was a thread not too long ago by someone with a similar problem. Try the search feature using "CEL" or something and try getting in contact with that person to see what they found Then again....you have LS/Vtec.....hopefully everything was done right.
