replacing timing belt without taking the pulley off?
My crank pulley will not come loose. I dont wanna stick a screwdriver and break it in my tranny. Can i replace my timing belt without takng the pulley off or no?
no. you need to take the pulley off to remove the lower timing belt cover. there's a crank pulley tool on summitracing.com thats made by moroso, just got mine and crank pulley bolt came off like butter.

The moroso one only works for some pulleys. If yours doesnt have the socket shaped indention in it(which some sohc dont), the moroso tool wont work.

i recently did a timing belt swap also and the pulley is a SOB...we LIGHTLY tapped it with a dead blow hammer and put some WD-40 on it and pulled on it over and over---after a half hour or so it slipped right off--Make sure you don't lose your keyway either--those little buggers are hard to find on a shop floor!
