Should i retard my timing??

im running 8 psi with greddy e-manage and was wondering if i should retard my timing. right now its at stock 16 degrees, unless e-manage changes it??? anyone know if it does? if not should i retard it a couple degrees via the distributor? or should i get msd or something? will it hurt performance if its retarded and im not boosting?
thanks.
EDIT: i think you have to have the ignition wire harness for e-manage to do it right?

have you hit boost already?
if you have and haven't heard any pinging or detonation, i would just leave it at stock setting like you have it now.

well sometimes when im really on it i hear a crackling sound, but my plugs show no sign. i have the engine disassembled right now and all looks good.
would retarding it 1-2 degrees hurt my non-boosting performance?

Yes, you'll need the Support Tool & the Ignition Harness to adjust timing. I can get you a rockin good deal on the Ignition or Injector Harness but you'd still need the support tool.

I know I'd reduce timing in that situation. A detonating motor makes less power than a tuned motor, its a given.

Wrong
You need to use some sort of boost timing retard feature.
(Leave distributor timing at 16.5 deg at idle)
I would suggest .85 deg per lbs of boost to start off with.
