Are both of your quarters getting replaced?
I did the passenger side a while back, now i just need to do the driver's side. The passenger side wasn't a complete quarter replacement, i cut out and just replaced what i had to. looking back though, i don't think i'll do this side the same. it was way too hard trying to line it all up without using the whole panel.

edit: you probably can't see the picture of the panel replacement now because photobucket sucks lol

This is so annoying. I didn't notice this until I got out of work today. Apparently the glue I used doesnt like the 85 degree days we've been having.

Starting to loosen up
Starting to pull off here
Yikes!
what's a good glue for pieces like this that will hold up to higher temps?

What kind of glue is being used? My dad uses 3M Super Trim Adhesive, it holds in the scorching AZ heat so it should handle 85° no problem.

This is what I used. Either it's not quite good enough or I screwed something up using it.

I used the DAP Weldwood Contact Cement when I did my leather door inserts and it's held up in the Texas sun for the past year or so. It's a bit more difficult to install than the spray-on stuff but you can get high from the fumes and it doesn't let go once it's on there.

i'll have to check both of these glues out. i hope i wont need to re-cut these pieces, i'll know better this weekend when i pull them off.

on a positive note, i have been daily driving the car for 2 weeks now and everything is running great. last tank of gas i got 32.4 mpg too, whoop whoop. i still start my truck and move it once a week so nothing bad starts happening to that thing from it sitting.

Not really an update, car is still running and driving great. It has sort of assumed daily driver status while we still have nice weather. my truck is not happy about that, i now have a seized caliper lol.

anyways, its kind of hard to tell in this picture, but i'm getting some oil leakage on top of the factory breather box. not near the pcv valve, but at the other hose. What would cause an oil leak at this location and not the pcv?

Not exactly, it's connected to the lower portion of the block so a trickle of oil is going back to the oil pan. I hope I'm right, been a while since I fucked with a b-series

I think i see where most of my oil leak is coming from now. the backside of that breather box is wet with oil and it looks like it is running down the back of the block and landing on the exhaust manifold. In addition to that, my ITR oil cooler also seems to have a slight seep and that is also running down and hitting the exhaust manifold. It smells lovely... When i installed the cooler, i bought all new hoses and o-ring and also during my tear down, i removed that breather box and replaced the o-ring where it "snaps" into place on the block. It looks like i will have to do this again. How do i replace the o-ring on the oil cooler and have it not leak? I torqued it to spec in the manual. Same goes for the breather box. I don't recall seeing anything to tighten down specifically to that o-ring, so I'm not sure how I could have messed up that install.

Also, I took this past Friday off of work. Someone let me know that there was an integra at a local u-pull yard. Found this guy and immediately started tearing stuff off. I took some odds and ends interior pieces and clips, the headliner, the one door panel (someone trashed the other ones), the driver's sides door glass (someone trashed the passenger sides) the cruise control switch, i tried taking the one a/c line but the bolts are waay to rusted and rounded to get anything on, i got the window motors and regulators, the rear door vapor barriers (surprisingly intact) , some bumper clips, and a couple of other odds and ends for a little less than $100. I'm super happy about the door glass. its all OEM honda glass still and no visible scratches. Mine are all scratched to hell and back because those little felt pads are toast i think. So i also grabbed all of those of this car too lol. I think i will go back and get the sunroof. I don't need it, but it is in really great condition and it is too cheap not to get it. Especially since i did all of the work already removing the headliner.

I was freaking out for a second thinking that was your car.

It might not be necessary to get that sunroof unless it's just for spare parts, you can completely disassemble your sunroof, clean all the old nasty grease out, replace the slider shoes which tend to wear down over time (a few dollars from a dealership), and regrease everything. I'd assume Honda used their urea grease from the factory but I don't think the type is all that important.

The slider part numbers are 70332-SR3-003 (8 of them) and 70334-SR3-003 (2 of them).

Oh I'd cry if that was my car lol. I was just going to get that sunroof for spare parts honestly, the fee for this at this yard is $30 for the whole setup. i figured that was worth it for the motor, the running track, the glass etc...

I didn't realize some of those individual items where still available, thats good to know!

So another quick Integra / life update. The car is still running really good, oil leaks aside. Hit 3,000 miles since the rebuild on my way into work this morning. I plan on changing the oil this weekend and sending it off to Blackstone for analysis. I probably won't need to keep changing it at 3,000 miles but i'll wait to see what the analysis says. Also on a downside, I've been hearing this sound coming from the passenger rear of the vehicle. I thought at first i had a stuck caliper, it sort of sounded like a pad was dragging. So i disassembled the rear brakes, reset the piston and put everything back together. Sound was still persistent. It has been progressively getting worse, so last night i pulled everything apart again. I spun the hub and it was notchy, did not move freely, and once i spun it fast enough i could tell that was the source of my noise. What the crap Timken, 3,000 miles and the bearing is toast? I checked to see if it was under warranty, but it only has a 12 month warranty and i purchased the part back in 2015. I guess that would be my luck to get a defect from the manufacturer. So, i'll have to place an order for another wheel bearing. At least its the rear and i can change that out myself pretty easily. Still, its frustrating...

And the life update. So, I don't like to talk about my personal life on forums / the interwebz too much. You may remember a ways back last year i had mentioned i was going to be a dad. Well, that ended not coming to be, it was a really depressing time at our house. But, I get to say it again. I will be a dad in December 2017. My wife and i recently picked out a name, and she wanted to do a car themed nursery (love her lol). She had a sign made with his name and she had the person designing the sign put an integra on either side of the sign. Turned out so good!

I'm interested to see how the community around these cars changes in another 10-20 years, I doubt mine will survive that long just based on how screwed up it still is even after all the work I put into it, but I suspect most of the remaining non-R models will end up junked after being ruined by idiots and the few remaining ones will be pristine garage queens or projects.

Thanks!

and that is a really good point. i imagine at that point forums will be long gone (they are getting so dead now anyways thanks to the bookface), i'm not sure how many of these tegs will still be around at that point. i mean, lets just say 10 years from now. My car would be over 30 years old. Not saying that is out of the question, i have a motorcycle that is 32 years old right now lol. Its crazy to think about. 10+ years from now someone could be driving down the road and see an old GSR and say hey remember those things??? i can only imagine what the next auto trend in the "scene" would be 10 years from now. Hopefully stance is gone lol

sucky part is you'll have to really source some parts from the junkyard because they are discontinued.

Its true, that's what will really determine how long you see these cars on the road. If the part doesnt exist anymore, you're up the creek.
