hope that compressor can do its thing.
didnt know about the pressure switch til after i bought it lol.
just shot some 134 into mine.
nice and cold now tho rad fan wasnt coming on.
been meaning to replace blower motor, after i did that rad fan is now on.
old one was drawing too much current i guess and load detector was shutting down rad fan?
two big thumbs up for 4 seasons blower motors.
last one did 12 years, factory unit went after 10 or so.

Re: danteisme's 1996 DB8-Found and Rebuild Thread
So i've got about 600 miles on the teg now. i went through over the weekend and double checked all of the suspension bolts to make sure they were still tight. only 1 or 2 were a tad loose. 2 small issues have presented themselves. I was at a traffic light yesterday and i got a smell of burning oil. Like, oil hitting something hot type of burning. So i put the car up on ramps and looked underneath. there is a slight oil seep at the oil pan gasekt right next to the transmission. i thought maybe it was just a loose bolt, so i grabbed a 10mm and went to tighten it but it was already very tight. i'm thinking i may have over tightened that bolt and the one next to it and now the gasket is squished. as long as it stays a slight seep, i'm not gonna worry about it for now. Its just annoying because whatever drips off is landing on the exhaust manifold.
the other issue a possible sensor issue...maybe. My VAFC2 usually reads about 14.5 volts. However, after the car warms up, as i apply the throttle the voltage dips down to about 12.8 or 12.7 according to the gauge. i'm not sure where the VAFC gets its voltage reading from, if it is from the alternator or from the battery. When i lift off the throttle, it goes back to bout 14.5. Along with this, sometimes in 2nd and 3rd gear if i'm very light on the throttle (less than 10%), i get some minor hesitation and bucking. At the same time, the volts are dropping. i'm wondering if the TPS sensor is no good and is affecting the volt reading and is causing the hesitation and bucking? Its not a well known brand TPS, so it may be just a cheap part that is causing the problem.
any other ideas?

Since its not functional I was thinking of building a solar panel and use a controller to charge security backup battery. When the car is not in use for a week or a little more it drains the car battery. So I said **** it, a small solar panel that generates enough to charge the battery will do, add in a charge controller to ensure it doesn't drain the battery during night time and we're golden. But I have to build a panel with enough solar cells though.
We'll see if it gets traction. Busy atm with bushing replacement for my civic sedan.

lmao i hacksawed .
get replacement bolts that tighten with
a socket or allen. the philips head screws
that came with one of the cheap tps were a joke.
no way to torque those enough to keep things
from shifting around lol.

no worries!
i read on the forum about how some people got them off. I tried one method, and it laughed at me lol. i used a dremel with a cutting disc to cut a groove in each rivet thing and attempted to remove it with a flat head screw driver

messed with the TB yesterday and finally got that bugger out. Hopefully i'll have some free time this week after work to replace it. i ended up using a reverse drill bit and it actually dug in enough that it un-threaded the entire bolt. Also picked up two reman window motors for the rear They are basically non functioning right now lol. I know that is going to be a huge PITA to replace, so that will have to wait for some weekend when i can take my time and get those rear doors disassembled.

another quick update, i pulled the trigger on a quarter panel for the driver's side. Should be here Friday or Monday. Definitely won't be installed until the end of this fall / winter. I'm having too much fun driving the car. I wanted to get it while i had the extra funds before something else claimed them lol
