Slack in shift-linkage/tranny?
hey... ive got a fresh GSR swap in my EG hatch. ive been slowly but surely getting all the little things together and one of the problems that is currently bothering is this slack in my shifter. It basicly is like nuetral in every gear. The shifter can move left and right about 2 inches nomatter were it is. Ive checked out the shift linkage and i cant quite figure out what the problem is (you can see pics of the linkage at my yahoo pic sight http://photos.yahoo.com/strangrwitcandy) the whole thing (linkage and part comming out of tranny) rotates when i have a friend move the shifter around (you can kinda tell in the pics, they are from the shifter being all the way to one side and then the other). Is it possible that the peice comming out of the tranny is the problem? because ive had my friend who did the swap check it out and he cant find anything wrong with the linkage... he says that its like the peice comming out of the tranny is loose. just wondering if this could be the problem, or could it be something else... and how might i go about fixing it (i really dont want to take out the tranny)
