i got a 86 lude and its stuck in 3rd gear. it wont go in anyothers and the shifter is likda limb u can move it anywhere like its not conected to the tranny. i think a pin came out of the linkage or someting. or mabey a cable brok if it usescable to shift. does anybody know whats going on?

 

Look on the tranny and see if they are in fact broken or disconnected. You are the only one that can tell.

 

if your'e not mechanically inclined, get a techinition to look at it.
