QUESTION:Y8block/Z6head..how do i time it.
a buddy of mine bent some valves an messsed up his y8 cam head the whole set up...i had a z6 head everything seemed the same so i put the head on the y8 block..everything went together no problems..but when i started it it wouldnt idle..car runs when u push the gas but just wont idle..is this something to do with the timing or something else??
ive looked everywhere for something on this set up but all i could find was the mini me swaps..non vtec blocks with vtec heads. so i wanna know can any vtec head go on any vtec block...an also i tried both the y8 and z6 cam gear same turn out with both..any info on why the car wont idle would help..thanks.
an when it does idle its barly on..like at 300rpm or lower.
again an info on what my problem is will help. thanks again.

What distributor are you using, there are all kind of timing issues with that set-up, you need the right combination of crank pulley, cam gear, and distributor.
