Default a6 crank z6 block y8 head z6 camshaft and gear timing issues

i have a 96 civic ex with fully built motor a6 crank z6 block camshaft and cam gear y8 head and distributor timing is advanced even with distributor fully retarded what do i need to change or do i need to just cut on the distributor to b able to turn it further? thanks for any help

just off half a tooth off because it sounds like you have the z6 cam gear??? SWAP CAM GEARS FOR A Y-SERIES CAM GEAR AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE!!! if not.. you might have set up timing to the y8 head markings instead of z6? you should b perfect unless you thought was TDC wasnt really. timing should be set to the (pink-red) marking on the right not the 3 in middle. ---- z6timing 16TDC --- y8timing12 TDC
