y7block y8 head -- 98 civic
can someone clear this u[p real quick please ..
i just did a mini- mi
y7block y8 head .. i used the entire y7 bottom end and the timing belt from the y7 also .. i used a y8 head i believe i had the y7 cam gear ..
not 100% sure on the cam gear though ..
is this an okay setup .. is my timing out of wack ..
ive been reading and cant seem to find out if the y7 and y8 belts and cam gears are different ..
i just need a quick yes or no answer if my setup is good to run

Re: y7block y8 head -- 98 civic
This is exactly what I'm talking about .. and if anything the cam gear would make the difference but since I have a y8 head and not a z6 I shouldn't have to change cam gear since the y8 has a different degree on the cam which in turn makes the oem markings off with the z6 head

the belts are the same also. nothing really has to be changed other than just bolting the head on. distributors are the same too.
sounds like you need to redo the timing belt to me.
