Default Question for VA H-Ters w/ swaps

I tried searching VA's Motor Vehicle Dept. website (http://leg1.state.va.us/000/reg/TOC19030.HTM#C0070), filing through regulations as far as what will pass/fail inspection. I couldn't seem to find, however, anything on engine swap legallity.

So, anyone in VA with an engine swap wanna help me out? I just need to know what is and isn't legal. As far as I know, if the engine is the same year or newer, you can do it, but i'm sure there's far more regulations than that. I'm just making sure I have all my **** squared away when it comes time to swap. Thanks.

Good idea. I'm heading back home to NoVA this weekend, so i'll drop in and ask.

Anyone else have any more info to throw into the pot?

In VA you shouldn't have to worry about anything! I have had swapped cars for years and have never been questioned once! Its not even a requirement for a state inspection! The only thing Va requires is that you have a catalytic convertor and that doesnt even matter if you know someone!
