I know about the same year or new motor thing and the no JDM motor thing also, but i really wannna know if i did either one of them am i gonna actually get in trouble for it other than getting pulled over by the cops?. Does anyone got any input or experince, I already did a search.

I have never had a cop check my engine when I have been pulled over, Now I have lived in Minnesota, wisconsin, Louisiana, and Alabama with my swap and been pulled over in each state (I have a lead foot ) thats best I can tell you about whats enforced

i live in delaware and i use to live in maryland i know for a fact that its a hell of alot easier to get stuff to pass in maryland than in most place. I dont think you will have problems with what ever you do

where i use to live (lived in MD for 19 years) an my dad is a mechanic there an i had an import there also. i have *never* had to pop my hood etc. they don't have smog or anything so it doesn't really matter but b-more maybe diff. coz i lived in the western part of the state an my other friends have never had probs. the only thing i know ppl have probs with is like ricer mods like clear lights (ie. corners an altezzas) an neons. just depends on where ur talkin about tho but pretty much i would say they don't care as long as smoke isn't pourin out the tailpipe all u have to do is get it inspected an after that nada

i would lose my license in a month if i lived in maryland, the state cops are psychotic, they form a heard of like 5 cars on the highway median around blind curves... with one cop leaned over his hood lasering every passing car, then one of the other cars will chase the speeder so they never have to leave their spot, they just cycle the cars.... after the cop is done ticketing he comes back, they never have to stop the process, it's ridiculous, and the state doesnt allow radar detectors either.

talk about a blatant misuse of resources, it takes 15 cops to pull over a speeding car on a superhighway like I 95

i think east coast cops are pretty ignorant when it comes to swaps, i have never had to open my hood either and if i did i am 95% sure the cop wouldnt even know what he was looking at, or for. (knock on wood)

Honestly, in MD i don't think swaps in general are illegal. I don't think the same year or higher laws apply (my friend who is a mechanic and has been into hondas forever said that law isn't really an issue here). I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for a swap. The only emissions test here is for exhaust and to check if you have a cat and you see if you're gas cap is still effective. MD laws, as far as I know, are very very leniant. As long as you are within your emissions specs, you won't get any trouble.

Go to any MD emission check station and pick up a brochure concerning engine swaps. It explains everything.
